Many people make considerable efforts to appear more attractive. They spend large sums of money on plastic surgeons and spend hours in beauty salons. At the same time, there is a simple and free way to become more beautiful, which, however, hardly anyone will like. The toxoplasmosis-causing parasite Toxoplasma gondii, living in the organisms of cats, can noticeably improve the appearance of a person.

Scientists from the Finnish University of Turku conducted a study and found out that people infected with toxoplasmosis become more attractive in appearance. Moreover, the patients also look healthier, one might say blooming. During the work, biologists collected 178 healthy men and women and 35 infected with toxoplasmosis.

A painstaking examination of each of the participants was conducted, during which not only the state of health was checked. Scientists were interested in parameters such as self-esteem attractiveness, the number of sexual partners, the number of minor ailments, body mass index, handshake strength, facial asymmetry and the ratio of the width of the face to its height.

After an impressive array of information was collected, a survey of 205 independent appraisers was conducted. 59 men and 146 women who did not know the true purpose of the study were chosen for this purpose. They were asked to express their opinion about the attractiveness of participants, healthy and infected.

As a result, it turned out that the carriers of Toxoplasma gondii were more attractive. The parasite changes the appearance of a person, and it is difficult for a layman to say exactly what happened. Just a patient with toxoplasmosis seemed prettier and sexier. With the results of the examination in hand, scientists were able to understand exactly what the infection changes.

It turned out that both men and women's faces became more symmetrical. The men behaved more confidently and looked more energetic. In addition, representatives of the fair sex are less prone to fullness and have a higher self-esteem. Among healthy respondents, according to the results of the assessment, there were significantly fewer sexually attractive people.

So far, biologists cannot give an unambiguous answer why this is happening. They only have a hypothesis that seems insane. A person can become infected with toxoplasmosis from a cat carrier through her feces. But at the same time, Toxoplasma gondii can also be transmitted from person to person.

But just touching is not enough for this — we need closer contact with the exchange of biological fluids. As you may have guessed, it could be sex. According to the only logical version, the causative agent of toxoplasmosis is so cool that it can increase the patient's chances of sex, making him more beautiful and sexier. So it contributes to the spread of infection among people. Of course, this hypothesis requires serious verification, but if it is confirmed, it will be a significant scientific discovery.

A few years ago, the Toxoplasma gondii parasite was already surprising the world of science. Then scientists learned that infected people are more successful in business.
