These rare photos, published recently in Sam Nee's book "Atypical Girls: Styles and Sounds of the Transatlantic Indie Revolution" ("Untypical Girls: Styles and Sounds of the Transatlantic Indie Revolution"), show women from the world of alternative music. And all this against the background of the evolution of musical styles-from the appearance of punk in the UK in the late 70s to the American grunge of the 80s and even a little further.
