1. Photographers accidentally stumbled upon a group of about thirty baboons being chased by lionesses. Unfortunately, the lioness caught up with one of the baboons. The photographers decided to watch, because they noticed that there was still a cub on the dead baboon.
2. When the lioness was about to carry off the dead baboon, the cub suddenly released the body of his deceased mother and ran to a nearby tree to climb on it…
3. ...but was too weak to do it. The lioness began to approach him. This is the moment when everyone expects a massacre, but…
4. To everyone's surprise, the lioness showed nothing but tender curiosity about the little baboon. She started playing with the frightened baby. The cub was injured and quite weak... and this shot was just a surprise to everyone.

6. The cub calmed down and started playing with the lioness.

8. Other lionesses approached and showed curiosity, there was no aggression until the male came, but he received an unexpected response to his wild roar of indignation.
9. Males were sitting on a nearby tree and watching the situation.
10. And as soon as the opportunity arose, one of them jumped down and dragged the cub with him.
