A modern artist is not necessarily a dull type with paints and easels. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, a new formation of artists was born, who preferred performances to visual art – theatrical and often absurd performances. In our time, this kind of creativity has reached an incredible scale and even a seasoned psychiatrist can marvel at the resourcefulness of artists. For example, in Krasnoyarsk, one gray-haired artist is now trying to grow a pine tree through himself.

Krasnoyarsk artist Vasily Slonov is known not only for his unusual paintings and sculptures, but also for strange actions. He has already demonstrated the "Birth of a Quilted Jacket" to fans of modern art and pulled thongs on cars in Switzerland. This time the author wanted to demonstrate the unity of man with nature.

Vasily Slonov asked to bury him partially in the ground, and to plant a live pine tree on his stomach. The action was held in the Karatuzsky district of the Krasnoyarsk region and the author called it "To grow, we need to stick to the roots". The artist himself was too busy with his feelings and, in fact, the process of integration into nature, so during the performance he was stingy with comments.

The questions of journalists and viewers were answered by the host of the action, who reported on the meaning of Slonov's unusual act::

Vasily's performance is completely eco-friendly, since the clothes in which he was "buried" are made of biodegradable materials. It was developed at the Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry, but it is not known for sure – for the Slonov event or for use on a global scale.

The comments of the presenter can not satisfy the curiosity of those present, so they constantly pester Vasily with questions. He confines himself to short remarks, like- "Finally, the harmony of the world has found a way out at this point". The organizers have not yet announced how long the performance will last.

From the point of view of fundamental science, the case of Slonov is not so unusual, because there are examples when a person simply began to claim that he was... a tree.
