20-year-old Australian Nathan Meola with a weight of more than 206 kilograms was the youngest and heaviest cast member for the project The Biggest Loser ("The one who lost the most").

He did not pass the qualifying round of the reality TV show, so the devastating news caused the guy a deep depression. But gradually Nathan coped with his defeat and over the course of five years gradually dropped 80 hated kilograms. Now the 28-year-old guy works as a personal trainer and by his example proves to many clients that everything is possible, even without the use of radical methods. Looking back at his past, Nathan does not understand why he has been trying to "jam" all his failures since childhood. "I was addicted not to food, but to the process of eating — it was a kind of psychological reward for the brain," he admitted.

At the age of 18, Nathan underwent weight loss surgery. He had a gastric banding to reduce the amount of food consumed, and over the next four years he lost 40 kilograms. However, such results did not greatly impress the young man, and in 2006 he decided to try his luck on the TV project "The One who Lost the most".

Over the next four years, he managed to maintain a 200-kilogram weight, but still at one point his patience broke and he decided to seek help at the Weight Loss Center in Hawkesbury. Since then, Nathan's life has begun to change dramatically, and now he has no desire to turn back. His passion for training became so strong that a year later he got a job as a personal trainer.

3. Nathan gradually dropped 80 kg over 5 years, now he weighs 125 kg.

Success in life inspired Nathan to write a scathing article on his blog about the TV project "The One who Lost the Most". "The deep emotional and mental problems that led to food addiction are simply ignored; the attention of participants is switched to intense competition, the potential opportunity to change their lives thanks to the prize fund, promises of dramatic weight loss combined with extreme responsibility; besides, the whole life of people is presented to the public for the whole nation," says Nathan in his blog. He also admitted that after the completion of the project, he met with his former rivals. About 75% of them returned to their initial mass.
