After the tragic death of Viktor Tsoi in 1990, a Wall of Memory of the rock star appeared on the Arbat at house 37: someone high up, across the entire wall, wrote in black "Viktor Tsoi died today", and in response a little later, "Tsoi is alive" was added.

A plaster sculpture depicting a musician sitting on a motorcycle was installed in July 2009. There was no place for this monument in Moscow: at first it was planned that it would be installed on the Old Arbat, not far from the Viktor Tsoi Wall (Krivoarbatsky Lane), however, due to the discontent of local residents who did not want a large crowd of people near the house, the commission on monumental art decided that the monument should not stand in this place.
In the future, it is planned that the monument will be exhibited in Russian cities and will end its journey in America in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In general, it is worth noting that some absolutely incomprehensible situation is happening with the permanent monument to Viktor Tsoi in Moscow — its opening is now and then postponed indefinitely. Marianna Tsoi, the widow of Viktor Tsoi, who personally oversees the installation of the monument, did not wait for the solution of this issue during her lifetime.

It is located next to the Altai State Pedagogical Academy, the first university of Altai, and the initiator of its installation was a well-known Barnaul businessman and bodybuilder, a big fan of the creativity of the Kino group Alexander Starygin. Sergey Kulgachev worked on the sculpture. Here, too, the opening of the monument was constantly postponed — Alexander Starygin did not live to see the implementation of his project.
