11 fashion trends that come back and we say please don'tVika
Fashion is really cyclical. After the fashion trends were forgotten for several decades, some trends are starting to return. Now the trends of the 90s and early 2000s are making a comeback. We were happy with sneakers, oversized clothing, and leather pants, but some of the trends were very confusing.
We love to be trendy, but these 11 fashion trends are not exactly what we were looking for.
1. Mallet haircut.
This is probably the most popular haircut of the last 50 years and has been done by both men and women. The first wave of popularity came in the 70s when the mallet was seen on such stars as Paul McCartney and David Bowie. In the 80s and 90s, mallet was still popular. And now, after a short break, he is again popular with celebrities and ordinary people.
2. Shoes with a square toe.
Square toe shoes made a comeback in women's wardrobes in late 2019. And it still remains very popular.
3. Buttoned cardigans with nothing underneath.
All girls from the 90s wore short buttoned cardigans. And they wore them over T-shirts and dresses. Those who are bolder wore them without T-shirts, with the top or bottom buttons unbuttoned. It seems like now is the time to buy these cardigans again, because almost all modern fashionistas wear them.
4. Visible bras.
Transparent blouses and other bra-revealing clothing are popular again. It is also important that the bra is bright and attractive: it is now part of the image.
5. Straight strands framing the face.
When we were in school, many girls had straight ponytails framing their faces. The luckiest girls, who managed to convince their parents, even brightened those curls framing their faces. And now that we have practically forgotten about this trend, it is back.
6. Hawaiian shirts.
Clothes with bright patterns were very popular in the 50s and 60s, and here Elvis Presley made a huge impact. Later, in the 90s, probably everyone had this shirt. If you still have one of these, you can wear it today.
7. Sandals with long laces.
We're pretty sure you probably had sandals that took you half an hour to put on. Now they are back in vogue. Would you take a chance and buy them today?
8. Massive chains around the neck.
Chains have been around for centuries, but if we are talking about modern history, massive chains became popular in the 60s and 70s. It was a time of a huge fashion revolution and the emergence of punk culture. The famous character of this movement, Sid Vicious, wore a massive chain around his neck. Such accessories can be seen today on modern celebrities.
9. Curled hair.
Curled hair was the dream of all girls in the late 90s and early 2000s. And now this hair is in trend again. Today they styled them a little differently, adding more dimension.
10. Pants with a low rise.
While we're happy with high-rise pants, more and more celebrities are now showing up in low-rise pants. We hope that they will not be as low as at the beginning of the century.
11. Metal eyelids.
The incredibly bright makeup of the early 2000s is back. Matte makeup is no longer popular - metallic is in trend, but it's not only the centuries, but also the lips. However, they do look better than in the past.
