In all such ratings compiled by domestic publications, "scorpions" occupy a much higher position. This is due to the fact that in their native Germany and Europe as a whole, they are not as popular as we are. However, everyone would like such "unpopularity". More than a hundred million copies of various albums sold speak for themselves.
Scorpions originated in Hanover in 1965. Contrary to popular belief, vocalist, composer and lyricist Klays Meine was not part of the original line-up, he joined the band five years later. Initially, Rudolf Schenker — the founder of the band, who is still loyal to him — invited Karl-Heitz Volmer (guitar), Achim Kirshing (bass guitar) and Wolfgang Dzioni (drums). We bring to your attention rare photos of those times when these guys gave heat at student discos and drove a bus with the inscription "LSD".
