This is exactly what the wise Italian did when he quarreled with his wife. But since this Mediterranean people are very emotional, to calm down, I had to walk for quite a long time — the man walked 416 km before he was stopped by the police.
After the family scandal, the husband silently left the house, without taking any things with him, and simply disappeared for everyone. The wife did not know where her husband was or if he was alive at all, until he was accidentally detained by the police on the other side of the country.
The walker did not set a specific goal to get anywhere, but simply walked straight along the road. It is difficult to say where the hiker would have ended up if he had not been detained by the police a couple of weeks later. A bearded man in stale clothes, and ignoring the curfew imposed in the country because of the coronavirus, seemed strange to them.
The Italian's wife was immediately informed of the good news that her disappearance had been found. The man was released, but before that he was fined 400 euros (about 36 thousand rubles) for violating the curfew. The Italian newspaper does not say whether the hero of this story went home to Como or continued his walk to the south.
