"Petukhippi": how Soviet magazines mocked the dudes
In the Soviet years, almost everything that did not conform to generally accepted norms, from hairstyles to musical preferences, was ridiculed and/or stigmatized. But the more identical brown trousers were produced by light industry, the more often young people looked at photos of Western ladies. And, if possible, adopted the style. Well, satirical magazines were just waiting for that — they made cartoons for a hundred years ahead.
