But now there is no getting away from them, as the Film Academy introduces new requirements for projects that qualify for the Oscar. It turns out that modern cinema art categorically lacks tolerance and therefore it will be enforced.
The American Film Academy has published new standards for films competing for the Academy Award in the Best Film category. The innovations are aimed at eradicating harassment in the film industry of women, as well as racial, ethnic, sexual minorities and people with disabilities.
Since the introduction of the standard, members of one of the "underrepresented" social groups must necessarily be present in each project. This tricky wording hides dark-skinned people, representatives of ethnic minorities, LGBT people, as well as people with disabilities. Strangely enough, women also get here. Obviously, the Film Academy noticed that the fair sex had not been filmed in a movie for a long time and decided to intercede for them.
So, if you were bothered by dark-skinned actors in films about knights or the Finnish Marshal Mannegreim performed by Kenyan actor Telly Savalas Otieno, then things may soon get even stranger. Now at least one of the main roles or one of the supporting roles will be played by actors with African, Latin American or Asian roots.
