Briton Sam Broad complains that her husband has been giving her really the worst gifts for Christmas for 15 years. Among them: towels, nails, WD-40 and rubber gloves.

The tradition of giving only "useful" gifts began 15 years ago, when Rick Broad presented his wife with a set of teaspoons. Since then, her husband's gifts have never ceased to amaze Sam. Rick presented his wife with towels, rubber gloves, and even a car de-icer.

Sam believes that such a dubious choice is due to the age difference, because Rick is 17 years older than his wife.

Rick himself sees nothing wrong with his gifts and prefers to give practical things.

Sometimes Rick even treats gifts with humor.

"I once complained to Rick that he never gives me flowers. And he took and gave me flour after that (in English, the words flower and flour are similar in sound. — Ed.)," Sam said.

Sam complains to her friends and family about Rick's choice every time, but, according to her, she can no longer imagine a holiday without these strange gifts.
