Endless Summer in Photographs by Henrik Purrienne

Photographer Henrik Purienne is known and loved all over the world. His photos, light, summery and playful, are liked by everyone without exception. Those who are superficially familiar with the master's work think that he is a regular at beaches and pool parties. This is not true - he has many serious works, no less interesting and valuable. But we will still turn to his "summer" photo sessions, capable of returning to us a piece of the lost warmth.

Henrik Purrienne was born in 1977 in Worcester, South Africa. At school, he was seriously interested in painting and architecture, but for some reason decided to study to become a television director. He worked for more than 10 years in television companies, creating documentaries and programs.

But then Purrienne realized that another art makes him happy and picked up a camera. The master himself describes his work as "an obsession with visual perfection." He does not try to create scenery around himself, but lives in such a way that everything corresponds to the style that suits him. The photographer says the following about the shooting process:

Henrik Purienne's models are young ladies with perfect figures, minimal clothing and makeup. The photographer displayed his aesthetics in the photo books "Purienne" (2013), "Holiday" (2016) and "Jeux de Peau" (2019). They were extremely popular, as was the joint publication with the house of Saint Laurent, dedicated to high fashion.

Looking at Purrienne's photographs, you might think that he only takes pictures of girls by the pool. His pictures are filled with eternal youth, summer and beauty. But this is only part of the impressive creative baggage of the master, who often shoots for serious publications devoted to art, fashion and psychology.
