Kemps Diary set a world record for the largest ice cream scoop at the annual Strawberry Festival in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, last year. The ice cream was placed in 733 containers, the total area of which was equal to the area of a football field. Five of the most famous American sculptors who specialize in creating snow sculptures, formed all the ice cream into the largest cone in the world, weighing 1,365 kg. This fact was entered into the Guinness Book of Records.
Vermont (USA) candy store owner Nick Monte was inspired to create the world's largest peanut butter bowl, which he did in 2013 by mixing 230 pounds of chocolate and peanut butter. Layers of milk chocolate were hand-formed into a 5-foot-diameter mold, and the filling was creamy peanut butter.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. There’s nothing better than a waffle. A really big waffle. It weighed 50 kg and was baked by Stichting Gouda Oogst in the Netherlands in 2013. It was 2.47 m in diameter. It took 60 kg of dough and 15 kg of syrup to make it. The waffle was baked in a three-ton frying pan! After the mayor was the first to try it, 3,000 pieces were handed out to delighted spectators.
It sounds too good to be true, but it is. The largest chocolate coin weighs 658 kg. It was presented to the public at the Ciocco Show Exhibition, organized by BF Servizi SRL in Bologna, Italy, in 2012.
The American hot dog is the world's number one fast food. In 2011, Dan Ebbett created the largest hot dog, which was listed in the Guinness Book of Records. It weighed 3.18 kg, was 41 cm long, and had a diameter of 10 cm. Anyone could buy a hot dog for $40.
In 2012, the title of "World's Largest Pizza" was awarded to the Italians. The first record, which lasted 22 years, was set in South Africa. The "Margherita" pizza was 40 meters in diameter. It took 9 tons of flour to make. In addition to the dough, it also had other ingredients: 4,536 kg of tomato sauce, 3,992 kg of mozzarella cheese, 675 kg of margarine, 250 kg of salt, 100 kg of lettuce and 25 kg of vinegar. The total weight of the pizza was 23,250 kg. Five Italian chefs baked 5,000 pieces of pizza for 48 hours. After the record was set, it was cut into pieces and donated to shelters in Rome.
The largest vegetable-filled samsa weighing 110.8 kg was made by Bradford College in collaboration with the UK's star restaurant Prashad in 2012. The triangular samsa measured 135 x 85 x 29 cm. The filling included 60 kg of potatoes, 25 kg of onions, 15 kg of peas, 12 handfuls of coriander, 300 chillies and 250 bottles of rapeseed oil.
In 2011, three teams, consisting of 136 members and 639 volunteers who helped fill the sandwich, prepared and served the longest sandwich. This tasty dish, created in Lebanon, weighed 557 kg and was 735 m long. It took a whole day to prepare the sandwich. Four ovens were used to bake the bread for the sandwich. The filling consisted of chicken breast, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayonnaise, salt, vinegar, mustard and white pepper, lemon juice, spices including coriander.
In 2008, Iran also attempted to break the record, but failed. The Iranian sandwich was 1,500 meters long and weighed 700 kg. The filling consisted of 700 kg of ostrich meat and 700 kg of chicken. But when it was officially weighed, the crowd began to take apart the pieces of the sandwich, violating the procedure.
In 2012, during a festival in Ireland, the largest pot of porridge was prepared, weighing 1,380 kg. Thus, the previous record set by the Russians was broken - the weight of their porridge was 865 kg. The pot, 1.4 m in diameter and 1.7 m high, was specially made for this event. 150 kg of oatmeal, 1.21 tons of water and 30 liters of milk were used to prepare the porridge.
This record may have been set during the biggest party in the world, and Belgium knows how to do it. In 2008, Luc Broos and his team created a fountain of 43,680 crystal glasses, arranged in 63 tiers. It’s hard to imagine how much champagne it took to fill all the glasses. And we don’t even want to think about the amount spent.
