Creepy Parisian clubs, which were lit before it became mainstream

Categories: Europe | History |

Surely you at least once in an unfamiliar city was a wrong turn and found themselves in the heart with a sinister architecture. In Paris of the 1920-ies it was not necessary to look far: the fashion was night clubs, which looked pretty grim.

One of the most popular was "Hell cabaret" (Cabaret de l'enfer). The club is near "Paradise cabaret" in the street of red lanterns, different interior and atmosphere, reminiscent of a Gothic vault, which strongly contrasted with the fluffy clouds with angels in a neighboring school.

This was not only a facade. The drink was called either disease. They give waiters dressed monks or funeral providers. And all this, while you are sitting at a table in the shape of a coffin and watch performances on the themes of death and the afterlife. In General, at that time in Paris was a horror how to have fun!
